Infor Expands Industry AI Platform with New Agents and Enterprise Governance Capabilities

Infor announced an expanded Infor Industry AI architecture October 2026, introducing additional industry-specific AI agents, personalized user experiences and enhanced governance capabilities across its enterprise software portfolio. The update also advances Infor Velocity Suite, which combines AI agents, automation, process mining and implementation expertise to help organizations translate AI investments into measurable business outcomes.

Industry-Specific AI Targets Enterprise Challenges

Infor’s expanded platform is designed to address the limitations of generic AI tools in complex business environments. Its AI agents use industry-specific knowledge, business processes and data models to support workflows across manufacturing, distribution, retail and other sectors.

According to Infor’s second Enterprise AI Adoption Impact Index, which surveyed 2,111 business decision-makers across seven markets, 68% of respondents said off-the-shelf AI did not adequately address their industry’s needs. The figure rose to 73% among manufacturing respondents and 76% in distribution.

Infor aims to address this gap through AI agents grounded in its Industry CloudSuites, Industry Process Catalogs and specialized domain knowledge. The company reports that customers using the platform are seeing shipments processed up to 60% faster.

Four Pillars Shape the Expanded Architecture

Infor Industry AI is organized around four core capabilities.

Precise Outcomes expands the portfolio of specialized AI agents and makes the Infor GenAI Knowledge Hub generally available, allowing customers to build customized agents using Infor’s application and industry knowledge.

Open and Connected enables integration with third-party applications, orchestration platforms and analytics tools. Infor IQ provides a shared semantic layer for coordinating agents, supported by a catalog of more than 350 predefined use cases.

Easy to Use introduces Adaptive UX, which brings relevant business information into personalized, role-based views. Infor reports time savings of up to 90% across selected procurement, supply chain, manufacturing and sales workflows.

Governed strengthens security, risk management and auditability through human-approval workflows, permission structures and traceable agent actions. Infor reports reductions of up to 90% in auditing costs associated with access management.

Enterprise AI Adoption Raises Governance Questions

The research also highlights growing enterprise interest in autonomous AI. Infor found that 59% of surveyed businesses expected to increase AI investment over the following 12 months, while 54% of business leaders were comfortable with autonomous agents executing critical processes without human input at every step.

However, accountability remains a challenge. The survey found that responsibility for AI is often distributed across executive leadership, IT teams and governance groups, while 33% of respondents identified data security, sovereignty or compliance as their biggest barrier to advancing AI strategies.

Infor’s approach places governance and audit trails within the architecture rather than treating them as separate additions. The company says this can help businesses adopt AI while maintaining oversight and accountability.
