Enterprise AI Adoption Impact Index Finds More than Half of Businesses Struggle to Scale AI. New Infor Solutions Aim to Close the Gap

Enterprise AI Adoption Impact Index Finds More than Half of Businesses Struggle to Scale AI. New Infor Solutions Aim to Close the Gap

Infor has announced new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across its Infor Velocity Suite and introduced the limited availability of an enhanced Infor Agentic Orchestrator. The announcement, made on April 22, 2026, follows findings from the Infor Enterprise AI Adoption Impact Index, which highlights the challenges businesses face when moving AI initiatives from experimentation to large-scale deployment.

The research surveyed 1,000 business decision-makers across the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Although many organizations believe they have the internal capability to implement AI, security concerns, limited technical expertise and uncertainty around return on investment continue to prevent widespread adoption.

Enterprise AI Adoption Faces Significant Barriers

According to Infor’s research, 80% of respondents believe their organizations have the internal capabilities required to manage AI implementation. However, 49% remain in the early stages of adoption, including organizations running pilots, pausing initiatives or yet to begin deployment.

The findings identify several major obstacles to scaling AI across enterprise operations:

  • Data security and compliance: 36% identify data security, data sovereignty, privacy or compliance as their greatest barrier to advancing AI strategies.
  • Limited AI expertise: 25% cite a lack of internal talent to configure, maintain and manage AI solutions.
  • Unclear return on investment: 23% struggle to establish clear business benefits and measurable financial returns.
  • Data readiness: 27% are unsure whether their organizational data is sufficiently mature and well-governed to support reliable AI.
  • Trust in autonomous agents: 31% report some level of discomfort with AI agents independently executing critical business processes.

These findings highlight the gap between business interest in AI and the operational foundations needed to deploy it successfully at scale.

Infor Velocity Suite Expands AI Capabilities

To help organizations overcome these challenges, Infor is expanding its Velocity Suite with industry-specific AI agents, automation tools and curated use cases designed to accelerate implementation and deliver measurable business outcomes.

The expanded offering includes:

  • Industry AI Agents: AI agents designed for specific industry processes, helping organizations automate tasks and support operational decision-making.
  • Agent Orchestration and Agent Factory: Capabilities that enable businesses to coordinate AI agents and develop solutions tailored to their operational requirements.
  • Value+ Solutions: Prebuilt industry-specific automations that are discoverable directly within Infor CloudSuites, making it easier for organizations to access relevant capabilities.
  • Prescriptive AI Use Case Packs: Curated collections of AI and machine-learning use cases organized by industry, business process and employee role.
  • CareFor Managed Services: One year of complimentary managed services following go-live for each implemented Infor Velocity Suite solution, helping customers support adoption and ongoing performance.

Infor has also introduced a warehouse management add-on focused on pick path optimization. Using machine learning, the solution guides warehouse workers along efficient routes when collecting items for orders. Infor reports that customers have achieved up to a 25% reduction in travel distance through this capability.

Infor Agentic Orchestrator Supports Connected AI Workflows

Alongside the Velocity Suite enhancements, Infor announced the limited availability of an enhanced Infor Agentic Orchestrator. The platform is designed to help AI agents work together across complex, multi-step business processes rather than operate as isolated tools.

Key capabilities include:

  • Advanced orchestration: Coordinates specialized AI agents to manage complex workflows while maintaining context across tasks.
  • Interoperability: Uses Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to support secure access to data and actions across Infor applications and compatible external systems.
  • Observability: Introduces capabilities such as Inline Thoughts, Evaluation Framework and Focus Mode to improve visibility into AI workflows and support human oversight.
  • Governed execution: Helps organizations manage AI-driven activities while maintaining appropriate controls over critical business processes.

The approach is intended to help businesses integrate AI into their operational systems while preserving visibility, accountability and control.

Key Takeaways

  • AI adoption gap: Nearly half of surveyed organizations remain in the early stages of AI deployment.
  • Security remains a priority: Data protection, sovereignty and compliance are major obstacles to scaling enterprise AI.
  • Industry-specific intelligence: Infor is expanding its portfolio of AI agents and prebuilt automations for industry workflows.
  • Connected workflows: Agentic Orchestrator aims to coordinate multiple AI agents across business processes.
  • Measurable business outcomes: Warehouse pick path optimization demonstrates the potential for AI to improve operational efficiency.
