SAP Previews Co-Developed AI Agents to Automate Procurement and Supply Chain Execution
Joule Sourcing Assistant and upcoming event-builder agents target bid creation, negotiation and cross-functional supply chain synchronisation
SAP previewed a new set of AI tools, co-developed with customers, designed to bring autonomous capabilities to procurement and supply chain operations. The preview includes the Joule Sourcing Assistant and upcoming event-builder agents, which are intended to take on time-intensive sourcing and planning work so that teams can focus on strategic decisions.
Sourcing and negotiation
The Joule Sourcing Assistant supports procurement teams across the sourcing cycle. Together with the event-builder agents, it is designed to handle bid creation and to surface negotiation levers that help buyers prepare for supplier discussions. By automating the groundwork of building sourcing events, the tools aim to reduce manual effort and shorten the time from identifying a sourcing need to reaching an outcome.
Synchronised supply chain planning
SAP also previewed agent capabilities that coordinate activity across multiple supply chain functions. These agents are designed to synchronise demand, inventory, manufacturing and transport, so that a change in one area is reflected across the others. Supply chain and procurement teams that have traditionally worked in separate systems and processes can therefore operate from a more connected view.
Built with customers
The tools were co-developed with [customer/partner names], ensuring they reflect the processes and requirements of organisations that run complex, multi-tier supply chains. SAP said this approach helps ensure the agents address practical day-to-day challenges rather than generic use cases.
